The U2 Live Event was not HD (Streaming Video sucks & Youtube sucks)

Everyone was raving about how amazing the live U2 cast was so amazing. I saw people saying, "can't wait to cancel my comcast subscription" Well it looks bad, sounds bad. It's like AM radio w/ tv via bunny ears. I'm comparing it to a 720P video (MKV file) on my PC. the monitor is a 30" monitor at 2560x1600.

I think the problem is U2 – they are absolutely horrible.
Um maybe they mean “amazing” compared to what YouTube used to offer. It looks at least about 20 x better then what YouTube looked like a few years ago IMHO. Its probably all relevant. I don’t own or watch much HDTV. So to me, the current YouTube video quality looks about normal. Not the best steaming video I’ve seen, but not bad. If I was used to watching a lot of HDTV, I’d probably be like, OMG how can anybody watch this crap streaming video.
Oh… oh, you’re buffering again? That’s what you’re doing? Yeah. You’re buffering again.
…
Ok keep buffering. I’ll wait.”
haha. It only buffered for me once but that’s exactly what I thought when it happened
Hi there. I agree with you but i made this video because so many people I follow on Twitter were praising how amazing the quality was. I saw people gushing over it.
Agreed, but the problem is not YouTube. Its bandwidth, or lack of. US internet service providers suck. Until we can get connection speeds fast enough to steam good quality HD video, this is about the best we are going to see. Sites like YouTube can only compress the video so much. Unfortunately the outlook for improve broadband in this country doesn’t look too good for the foreseeable future.
