Is a 30 inch monitor with 2560×1600 too much workspace for a computer?

This is a killer resolution, but i wonder if it is too much?
Further more, is it too much 30 inches for pivot feature?
the new 3008WFP doesn't have pivot feature, maybe i will ask another question regarding pivot
